WHAT WE DO
Digital Links’ mission is to significantly increase access to high-end, low-cost ICT and provide technology solutions for development in the world’s poorest regions. Within the next 3 years we will build on our past success by providing access to over 2 million more computers offering more than 10 million young people their first access to IT. This will be done by refurbishing redundant IT equipment from UK donors and by enabling access to new technologies through partnerships with manufacturers and software providers.
So that every computer shipped by us can achieve the most good we offer practical and professional support to recipient schools and organisations each step of the way. Working with local partners we can ensure that the equipment is networked and maintained and supporting tools are developed. We even provide training to teachers and employees to make sure that each piece of IT is being used to its maximum advantage.
The rapid spread of technology is changing the way that economic and social development occurs in most countries. Technology is able to increase the productivity of institutions and markets, increase skills and learning, heighten the effectiveness and transparency of governments and allow the poor to access services and make their voices heard. The work of Digital Links is helping speed this technological revolution.
By providing ICT solutions for development, Digital Links is creating life changing opportunities in a wide variety of areas; education, health and small business development.
