Recycle / Reuse IT Equipment

Turning Your Old Computers Into New Opportunities

Digital Links offers a comprehensive and quality-assured IT disposal service for UK companies. We refurbish donated computers for reuse in developing countries. Our service includes collection, certified data erasure, and assumption of legal liability for the equipment.

By donating your redundant IT assets to Digital Links we can provide a cost-effective means of meeting your ethical IT disposal obligations. Digital Links will collect, data wipe and refurbish working high spec items at no cost. We will environmentally recycle low spec and non-working equipment for a competitive fee.

We work in partnership with professional asset management companies who collect and refurbish donations for us. This means we can promptly accommodate large and multiple collections and ensure the highest standard of service.

Donating computers through us is refreshingly simple and secure. Our computer recycling for reuse service includes:

  • Complete and secure data-wiping on all machines to MoD standard
  • Full audit trail, with complete digital asset tracking
  • Full compliance with the WEEE directive
  • 0% landfill policy- full recycling of any damaged items
  • Collection from anywhere on the UK mainland
  • Multiple site collections of any number of items from 50 to over 10,000
  • Feedback on the countries and communities that your computers are benefiting

To keep the costs of collection low, we generally need a minimum of 50 items per collection (an item is a monitor or a base unit). The types of equipment that can usefully be reused are:

  • Base units and laptops, minimum specifications:
    • Pentium III 733Mhz processor ,128 Mb of RAM, 10 GB Hard Drive
  • CRT monitors - 15" or 17" only
  • Flat screen monitors (complete with stands)
  • Laser printers
  • Servers

Other and older equipment is unlikely to be able to be reused and will need to be recycled, but as part of our service we can also look after this for you.
